Professor Hans Ruin (Södertörn University College, Stockholm) visits the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies in October-November. On Monday, November 3, we organize a symposium on Professor Ruin's current work.
In the morning, Professor Ruin will deliver a lecture on the philosophy of technology, with the title "What is a Philosophy of Technology?" In the afternoon session, we will discuss two recent articles (preliminary versions attached) by Professor Ruin: "Technology as Destiny in Cassirer and Heidegger - Continuing the Davos Debate" and "Ge-stell: Enframing as the Essence of Technology". All participants are asked to study the two texts as they give a common starting point for our afternoon discussion with Professor Ruin.
WELCOME!
