Dear Colleagues,

The International Symposium to the Tercentenary of David Hume will take place at the Collegium for Advanced Studies, the University of Helsinki, Finland, on October, 3-5, 2011.

As a result of the conference a volume of full papers will be published in the beginning of 2012.

Spheres to discuss:
- "A Secret Island": British philosophy in the context of comparative studies
- David Hume and Scottish Enlightenment: ideas and receptions
- The Enlightenment: universality and special features of the 'Northernlightsment'
- David Hume: history and philosophy of history
- David Hume: human nature and natural religion
- David Hume: intellectual life outside academia
- David Hume: human mind
- David Hume: "necessity","liberty", and free will
- David Hume: common sense and moral sensibility

Proposals for additional topics are welcome.

The conference will incorporate the Round table: "How ideas move: problems of intellectual communication"
