JOINT NORDIC USE OF WAB BERGEN AND VWA HELSINKI (JNU VWAB) (2008-2010)
The Wittgenstein Archives at the University of Bergen (WAB) and the Georg Henrik von Wright Archives at the University of Helsinki (VWA) have been awarded financial support by NordForsk for the "Joint Nordic Use of WAB Bergen and VWA Helsinki" (JNU VWAB) project. The project will run from 1.1.2008 until 31.12.2010. Through this project, Nordic researchers are offered stipends for coordinated and supported use of WAB and VWA.
Selection of projects to be carried out under JNU VWAB will follow call and evaluation procedures. Nordic researchers can propose short-term (up to 1,5 months) single user or user group projects to be conducted at WAB or VWA, pertaining to the following areas: (1) Wittgenstein research and philosophy, (2) Digital scholarly editing, text technology and digital humanities, (3) Fields of intersection between (1) and (2). User group projects and proposals pertaining to (3) are particularly encouraged. Applications in response to this call can propose projects to be carried out in the period 1.9.2008-31.12.2010.
Project proposals will be evaluated and selected by the JNU VWAB Management committee. Participants of selected projects are granted reimbursement of travel expenses, accomodation and living expenses, and use of WAB or VWA free of charge for the agreed duration of the project.
Eligibility of research groups and researchers:
Researchers of any citizenship are eligible for benefitting under JNU
VWAB, as long as they are based in a Nordic country/affiliated to a research institution in the Nordic countries. "Nordic" refers in this context to the Nordic and Baltic countries and North-West Russia (Denmark DK, Estonia EE, Finland FIN, Iceland IS, Latvia LV, Lithuania LT, Norway NO, Russia RU, Sweden SE).
Deadline:
The deadline for reception of project proposals in response to this call is 14.5.2008. Applicants are informed of the results of the evaluation procedure at latest within 4 weeks after the deadline.
