Call for Papers
European Society for Aesthetics Conference 2010
University of Udine, Italy, 27. - 29. May 2010
Deadline: 15. January 2010
The European Society for Aesthetics would like to invite you to submit a paper for presentation at the ESA Conference 2010. The conference will be co-organised by the ESA and the Associazione Italiana degli Studiosi di Estetica and will take place from the 27th of May until the 29th of May 2010 at the University of Udine in Italy.
We are inviting papers from all traditions and on any topic in philosophical aesthetics, and both systematic and historical presentations are welcome. We encourage the presentation of papers in English, but submissions in other major European languages will be considered equally.
For each talk, there will be time for a 30-minute presentation, with about another 30 minutes designated for dicusssion. The selected presentations will be part of thematically organised parallel sessions, though we aim to keep the number of sessions happening at the same time to a minimum. There will also be three or four invited plenary speakers, the names of which we will communicate shortly.
We prefer the submission of full papers of about 3000-4000 words. Alternatively, it is also possible to send in longer abstracts of a minimal length of 800 words, that present not only the main ideas and claims of the paper, but also sketch its chief considerations and arguments in favour of them. Please prepare your paper in such a form as to allow for blind refereering and accompany them with your contact details and information about your academic affiliation (if any).
Submissions should be send to the secretary of the ESA (email:
secretary(at)eurosa.org). The deadline for submissions of papers is the 15th of January 2010, and we aim to inform you about the result of our selection process by the middle of February 2010.
All participants of the conference will be asked to sign up for membership of the ESA (which is free) and to pay a moderate conference fee (40 Euro for fully waged members, and 25 Euro for student or unwaged members).
Further information on the conference will soon be available on the website of the ESA (www.eurosa.org). For questions concerning the local organisation in Udine, please contact Alessandro Bertinetto (email: alessandro.bertinetto(at)uniud.it). For all other enquiries, please contact Fabian Dorsch (secretary(at)eurosa.org).
