Licentiate of Arts, Max Ryynänen, defends his doctoral thesis on 5.10.2009 at 12 o'clock at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Helsinki titled "Learning from Venice - What a unique city can teach about the aesthetic". The dissertation takes place in auditorioum XII at the Main Building of the University (Unioninkatu 34 [Helsinki]). Professor (Emeritus) Arnold Berleant (Long Island University) acts as the opponent and professor Arto Haapala is the custodian.
